“Quid pro quo.” “Give a little, get a little.” “Meet me in the middle.” Ever heard any of these sayings?
Many of us hear some version of these phrases on a regular basis. Can you guess what today’s theme is? If you said COMPROMISE – you are RIGHT!!!

While I once heard that compromise is vital to any good friendship or family relationship, no one really enjoys it, right? There is always a certain fear of shame, blame or being thought of as “weak” for giving in!  What a world eh?  Is it?

But what if I told you that there was a way to compromise in a certain situation without losing anything?! What if you could get the best of both options without giving up any of what you want or need?

Well, our hybrid steel-and-wood building solutions are just that: the best of two pretty different worlds!

Steel is the first “ingredient” in our recipe for a successful building. Our frames are skillfully crafted from steel, which means that they are stronger (the first vital aspect of our “S.A.F.E.R.” acronym). Steel frames have been thought to work especially well for larger buildings, as the frames require fewer supports for the same amount of durability. But steel is very advantageous when it comes to higher wind, snow and even RAIN loads!!  (Yes, in certain parts of the building codes, there is such a thing!).

Steel CAN be very quick to build with, especially when it is designed to be pre-fit, pre punched, pre welded and all ready just to be put together!  Like an “Erector Set”!!

Steel is also fully recyclable, which keeps it out of landfills. It’s a win for you AND a win for the planet!

Moreover, steel is non-combustible, and it resists rot, mold, and insects/animals.

The second essential ingredient in our building system is wood. It is traditional, beautiful, and useful! Wood has long been utilized for its beauty and charm, but those certainly aren’t its only desirable qualities. It is faster and easier to build with than other materials, and plus, it’s renewable! Since trees are constantly being planted, wood is replenishable.

Another advantage of wood is that it traps in warmth. Steel on its own is not the greatest insulator, but when you combine it with wood (an INCREDIBLE insulator), you’re sure to stay nice and warm (especially with all the crazy back-and-forth cold snaps we’ve been having lately)! And on top of all these benefits, remember how we said steel can be quick to build with, well wood can also be quicker and easier to construct with than other materials.

And, of course, our customers are the third and final ingredient for the success of our buildings and our company.

We love working with and for you! When you build with us, we make it so that you don’t have to compromise on your needs or wants. Never do we allow for feelings of shame, blame or disappointment – (Except maybe a little, if we were not your chosen solution!!)
